Summary:
Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will oversee the Accounting Department's operations in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of SCCCU's financial records and supporting the CFO in fair presentation of financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will abide by GAAP and regulatory guidance, actively seek updates to GAAP and rules / regulations, propose changes and implementations to the CFO, support CFO in forecasting budget, managing Asset/Liability Committee Management (ALCO) activities and produce accounting/finance reports.
Duties /
Responsibilities:
Ensure all accounting operations, reports and records are prepared and maintained; Perform quality control of monthly financial statements and all financial information is accurate; Prepare quarterly NCUA Call and other regulatory reports; Ensure all month-end adjusted entries to the GL are complete, accurate and based on updated reconciled, sub-ledgers; Review / approve monthly GL reconciliations; Prepare set of GL reconciliation, as needed, for CFO to approve; Stay current on GAAP and accounting guidance from the NCUA and develop plans for implementation of changes, as they occur; Oversee Alloya Cash Management account (federal funds daily investment); manage proper / efficient cash management techniques; Prepare requested items for audits and DFPI-NCUA exams; Oversee AP function; Process payroll by corresponding with employees in connection with time card hours, reviewing for accuracy and submitting payroll file to external payroll service for processing; Manage Accounting Department staff by directing, coaching, mentoring and discipline; Conduct and prepare performance evaluations for reporting staff; Assist in formulation and documenting procedural changes; Produces assigned monthly Board of Directors reports; Oversee appropriate internal/external documentation and records for investment transactions; Reviews investment subsidiary schedules for accuracy and completeness; Submit ALM quarterly data to generate analyses and reports; Assist the CFO in coordinating the annual operating budget process; Ensure full compliance SCCCU's operating policies / procedures, service standards and the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance; Minimum of 3 years' related experience within a financial institution; Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience within an accounting-related role.
Strong working knowledge in GAAP and capability to apply in relevant accounting operations; Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Word and Excel, together with accounting software, such as Wisdom (will train) and related software applications; Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment, under pressure, be able to multi-task, follow-through, self-direct and meet deadlines.
Exemplary oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; Holder of valid CA driver's license, clean driving record, reliable transportation; Must be able to be bondable.

$96,408.
76 - $143,113.
14 DOE base salary for this full-time exempt position.
